Update

We were able to buy 5 goats which went to five different families that are in need. All of them are pegnant so when they give birth, the babies will be sent to other Families.

Paul Mwesigwa was able to come to the school to thank us and tell us about his village and answer any questions he had. He brought with him necklaces and bracelets made by the women of the villiage. All proceeds will go back for them.

Paul told us that some of the top needs in his villiage and others like it are blankets, clean water, medical help, mosquito nets, etc. We will be working this year to raise money for some of those things.

The Family Picture

Here is a picture of the family, some friends, and Ms. Coppa and some of the people that went with her on her trip. The Family lives in Uganda, Africa.

Letter

Here is a letter we got from Paul Mwesigwa who is the executive directer of The Blessed Family Child Center Ministries. This letter tells about the family we are giving the goat to and how much a goat might cost.

Dear Melissa,

Hope you are fine and well. Sorry took long to get back to you. I have been trying to look among the 120 families we have that could benefit for the goat that will be donated. You know this is not easy because each family is really in need.

We when I made a little survey, I chose the family you visited second the last day you made visits. This woman is a widow and lost the husband of AIDS and not takes care of the children and she herself could be infected though I have not found out yet.

We believe this could be the right family to give the goat. With the recent finding son the coat of a female goat, it would range from $50 - $60. Goats have a 90% chance to give birth to twins and this could be a good chance.

People here don’t keep goats for milk. Most of them will keep it for sale for meat. If the goat is fully grown, then they could sell it for $80, which could be enough to buy two other goats for the family.

Please let me know what you think and I apologize for the delay. I wanted to have proper information given to you.

Please extend our great appreciation to the students that what to donate the goat to this family.
I have attached the on my next email.

Blessings

PAUL

Hat Day and The Goats

We recently had a hat day at the school where we charged the students .50 cents to wear a hat. We earned $28.60. On the 23rd (next Monday) we will be selling paper goats for $1.00 a piece to everyone during lunch. The money raised from the goats will go towards getting a real goat for a family in Africa.
